Throughout history, heroes and villains have sought to obtain the artifacts and treasures left behind by the gods believing they will bring them great power. Some are merely legend; some, embellishments of ordinary objects; and some may just be the real deal.
Greg Cross is a man who knows this all too well, because his own encounter with just such a relic, though bequeathing him a power unseen since times of myth, very nearly cost him his life.
Now on the hunt for another ancient artifact, the final piece of a puzzle left behind by the last member of the enigmatic Order of the Nexus, Greg and his friends must follow in the footsteps of those who last sought it over a thousand years ago. But this particular piece is one of the most famous myths in the world, and one that in the wrong hands could tip the balance of power towards the very darkness the Order hoped to prevent.
An action based thriller in the Style of Andy McDermott that takes the myths of the earliest civilisations and weaves them into those of some of the primary cultures that have shaped the legends of old. The Order of the Nexus series follows master thief Greg Cross and his allies as they unravel the origins of those legends, and how they all trace back to a group of mysterious and possibly extra-dimensional beings who were once mistaken for the ancient gods that perpetuated the myths of today.
Author's Note Legacy of the Gods is the second in the series "Order of the Nexus". The first installment "Secret of the Nexus" is also available on

I really liked the first novel in this series. This one just doesn't work, and I found myself skipping over conversation about the Grail legend and Norse mythology that essentially repeats over and over. There are some stupid action sequences, and as the climax builds they just repeat over and over. Greg consistently over estimates himself and comes up short, consistently pits his force against magical hammers and such in what might make colorful video but just dull gray prose. And the whole crew keeps making small talk and jokes while they are about to die, not to mention doing things like going into blind caves and corridors while knowing the bad guys are right behind them. The ending of launching the hammer by brute force is just too unimaginative, sorry, I don't buy it. The author left potential for an interesting sequel, if he can only improved his writing back to at least the level of the first novel. On the other hand, the idea that Greg has passed some test qualifying him as advanced and civilized enough to wake Antar when all he can do is throw a big hammer very high ... that is brute strength, and savages are better qualified. It going to be hard for the author to ever overcome the limitations of this stupid and physical character (thief at that) he has written himself into.

Legacy of the Gods Order of the Nexus Book 2 edition by CP Moore Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Started a little rough but once it picked up the pace, it was as good as the first book
Good read, real good pace, waiting for the next one...
Great read.
Loved the ending definitely calls for sequel. I have been watching but have heard nothing about this possibility as yet.
An archeological thriller and a good one at that. Greg the Avatar with incredible power. As to how much power he has? He doesn't even know. Thor's Hammer, gauntlets, sarcophagus and a lot more make this book an exciting read.
This series has really been good. The characters have real depth to them. Can't wait to read the third book in the series!!
Enjoying the romp through ancient myths and cultures. Author still has grammatical problems and other editing needed but I am pleased with the plot.
